Award Winners

The International Human Rights Film Award Nuremberg goes to Maidan by Sergei Loznitsa.

The Audience Award of the 9th Nuremberg International Human Rights Film Festival goes to The Look of Silence by Joshua Oppenheimer.

The Award of the Open Eyes Youth Jury goes to Something Better to Come by Hanna Polak.

Our Open Eyes youth jury consists of Jasmin Boltendorf, Elise Eckardt, Jonathan Gottschall, Eva Maria Kuhn, Charlotte Uhlign and is supported by other students of the P-Seminar ‘Human Rights Film’ of the Labenwolf-Gymnasium.

Dr. Claus Löser
Film journalist, author and programme director
at the BrotfabrikKino Berlin. Documentary filmmaker and
Journalist, editor and translator of numerous essays on film and contemporary history.
Dr. Oksana Sarkisova
Director of the Verzio International Human Rights
Documentary Film Festival and research assistant at the Central European University in Budapest.

Eva Weber
Multi-award-winning documentary and feature film director. Her film Black Out screened at the NIHRFF International Forum in 2013.
Vanina Vignal
Director. The second film in her Romania trilogy, After the Silence, celebrated its German premiere at NIHRFF 8 in 2013.
