Live Concerts and DJs 2017
From 28.9. to 3.10. we present great live concerts with local bands and artists in our festival lounge from 10 pm, together with the Musikverein Nürnberg and Radio Z. Afterwards, various Radio Z DJs will spin and bring the festival day to a relaxed close.
Thursday, 28.9.
Genre: ANTI FOLK
After going solo in 2012, Jan Bratenstein is now known as THE BLACK ELEPHANT BAND. He‘s already released three albums and made a name for himself in Germany and beyond. The local paper, the Nürnberger Nachrichten, love him: „[…] unpolished, biting and sharp song miniatures in English, full of weird humor and scathing comments on the world […] Wonderful!“
Followed by Radio Z DJ: A good life is the best revenge // Freedom pop
Friday, 29.9.
SCHWEBEN (FLOATING) is the solo project of one half of the neo-kraut-psych duo ZEMENT from Würzburg. Different analogue and digital instruments provide evidence of how improvised music can sound. Soundscapes that invite listeners
to drift away emerge. Why not give floating a try?
Followed by Radio Z DJ: Schwarzfunk Wave Club // Wave/Postpunk/Minimal/Electronica/Synthiepop
Saturday, 30.9.
The Nuremberg musician Hannes Hümmer is behind SKULL SIZED KINGDOMS, though he‘s actually better known as the lead singer in the post-hardcore A SAVING WHISPER. In his post-ambient solo project, he combines atmospheric
and playful synth melodies and alienated bass riffs with big beats that inspire listeners to dream and dance.
Followed by Radio Z DJ: Axel Nerlich // Lo-Fi/Indie
Sunday, 1.10.
Julia Laura defines her music as „cheesy love songs & shitty guitar-play-2017ing.“ Her velvety voice and acoustic guitar playing (not as bad as she says at
all) have brought her renown in Nuremberg, Fürth and the rest of Germany, as well as Switzerland!
Followed by Radio Z DJ: Gerlinde Bogner // Electronic/Folk/Lo-Fi
Monday, 2.10.
Hannah Grosch is not one person, but many and they are taking folk in another direction. The songs evoke decay but don‘t ever tumble into complete darkness. A wasteland that remembers the beauty of sunny days. Hannah Grosch is a band that reveals itself to be a real transformer.
Followed by Radio Z-DJ: Philip Manthey // Future Folklore
Tuesday, 3.10.
It‘s when he was living on a remote rural island in Ireland that Stephen Burchbegan making music. His lyrical songs tell stories of persecution, fast journeys and the search for home. What makes THE GREAT PARK so unusual is the serious nature of the music and lyrics, evoking the Romantics. „A singer-songwriter is always a poet and Burch is a very special one,“ wrote the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
Followed by Radio Z DJ: Christian Seitz // relaxed electronica
