SYNOPSIS

Saar grew up in a kibbutz. He is gay, HIV-positive and lives in London – his new home after being rejected by his conservative religious family. The UK capital’s Gay Men’s Chorus becomes his family of choice and he finds love and affirmation. But it’s not that easy for him to cut the family ties… The Heyman brothers have made a stirring documentary whose soundtrack is peppered with glorious performances by the London choir.
Saar misses his family’s love but his macho father – an ex-soldier – and his religious mother have trouble accepting their son. His oldest brother is worried about his child when his HIV-positive uncle visits. Despite all the pain and past injuries, Saar decides to go back to Israel and confront his family. It turns out that his parents and siblings are also willing to put in the effort to find a way of co-existing.
