SYNOPSIS
An Istanbul doctor protects a young pro-Gezi demonstrator from the police and comes into the sights of the organs of state. Against the backdrop of the Taksim Square protests, İlker Çatak creates a captivating and atmospheric drama about moral courage, which justifiably won the short film award at the Max Ophüls Festival and has won the Student Oscar 2015.
”With fine nuances and narrative sophistication, FIDELITY gives an insight into today’s Istanbul. We experience the private aspect of the political conflict. Technically brilliant, with a first-rate ensemble and strong images – this film captivated and enthralled us.” (From the jury statement, Saarbrücken 2015)
