Iranian human rights activist Maryam is released from the notorious Evin prison for seven days. She is looking forward to seeing her family again. But she is faced with the most difficult decision of her life: together with Maryam’s husband, who lives in Germany, the family has secretly devised a plan to smuggle her out of Iran. But does Maryam really want to stay in safe exile – or should she return to her prison cell to continue the fight for equality and democracy?

Ali Samadi Ahadi’s (LOST CHILDREN, THE GREEN WAVE, etc.) gripping drama about an Iranian human rights activist, based on a screenplay by Mohammad Rasoulof, tells a highly topical and intense story about the price of freedom, the courage to resist and the power of family.
