Opening Ceremony of the 14th Nuremberg International Human Rights Film Festival
15. October 2025 | 19:15 – 20:00

We invite you to our festival opening at Tafelhalle Nuremberg. Here we offer you a quick overview of our programme and the guests we are expecting at the festival.
Nuremberg’s Lord Mayor Marcus König will open the festival before festival director Andrea Kuhn places this year’s edition in its current political, cultural and social context. Christina Wolf from Bayerischer Rundfunk will moderate the event.
After this official opening act, you will have the opportunity to refresh yourself briefly in the foyer of the Tafelhalle before we present our opening film QUEENDOM. In this stirring documentary, you will get to know Gena Marvin – an extraordinary and courageous artist who puts her life on the line in Putin’s Russia with her bizarre costumes and public performances. The equally courageous director Agniia Galdanova (Russia) will be our guest and talk to us about this extraordinary film. We will also be joined by Evi Chayka from EQUAL PostOst, a European human rights organization that supports LGBTIQ+ people in countries of the former Soviet Union.

The Openig Ceremony will be interpreted into German Sign Language and English.
The Opening Film will be screened in Russian with English subtitles and German subtitles with sound descriptions (SDH).
Free Admission Ticket required.
