Biography
Daniel Abma is a documentary film director who was born in The Netherlands and now lives in Berlin. After studying primary education in Amsterdam, he worked in the field of media education before studying directing at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. His feature-length documentaries, including TRANSIT HAVANNA, AUTOBAHN and BEYOND WRIEZEN, have been shown internationally at festivals such as Karlovy Vary, IDFA, Visions du Réel and DOK Leipzig. BEYOND WRIEZEN won the Grimme Award in 2015. He has been teaching documentary film directing at the Babelsberg Film University since 2017.
