Synopsis

When Seyo takes up her new position as a prosecutor, she already knows that right-wing violence will be a part of her daily work. But when she herself becomes the victim of an attack, she realizes that the independence of the judiciary can be very fragile when racism has long been entrenched in the system. She digs deeper and deeper into the failings of her own agency and fights for justice by any means necessary—both inside and outside the courtroom. Winner of the Berlinale Audience Award: With PROSECUTION, Faraz Shariat presents a film whose urgency and impact are unparalleled. Shocking and angry, yet never without hope, PROSECUTION explores the question of how a corrupt system can be changed from within.
