SYNOPSIS
We leave traces on the Internet every day, and data about us is permanently stored. It is said that the algorithms know us better than any other person. But is it possible to create a doppelganger of a person on the basis of personal Google data alone? The artist group Laokoon has dared this data experiment and now shows in an impressive way what insights Google, Facebook & Co. have into our most intimate secrets. The experiment was developed together with data analysts, insiders from the online advertising industry, hackers, programmers and web designers. A data set of a test person was analyzed with data from five years in order to recreate the life of this person in detail – with astounding success. How predictable is each one of us? MADE TO MEASURE explores the opportunities and risks of data tracking and how tech companies use the collected data to generate profit.

Cosima Terrasse develops participatory performance projects and teaches at the Social Design Studio of the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Block and Riesewieck are theatre and documentary film directors as well as authors. Their debut film THE CLEANERS about the shadow industry of digital censorship in Manila had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018 and has since received numerous national and international awards, including an Emmy nomination.
