In her novels, essays, radio plays and theatre pieces, she is a master at dissecting the grammar of patriarchy and political and personal power constellations in her very own language. Time and again, she takes a stand on Austrian politics and the shift to the right in our societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marlene Streeruwitz will discuss art and politics with festival director Andrea Kuhn &#8211; how can one communicate politically when the form of expression has always ideologically moulded the message? How does the idea of a &#8216;message&#8217; relate to artistic creation at all? Are compromises possible or even necessary, and if so, which ones?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afterwards, Marlene Streeruwitz will read from her current novel &#8220;Flammenwand. Roman mit Anmerkungen&#8221;, which was published by S. Fischer Verlag in May. Uncompromisingly, with humour and verve, but also with a good dose of anger, she tells of the decay of a relationship and at the same time describes current Austrian politics.
