SYNOPSIS
Anna Zamecka accompanied the 14-year-old Ola and her family for one year. The result is an enchanting intimate and moving portrait of a family that has wonderfully expressive imagery. Highly recommended!
Ola has a dream: She wants to get the whole family back together. She hopes to do this on the occasion of her 14-year-old autistic younger brother’s First Communion. The mother is not there – only accessible by phone. The father spends most of the time at the pub. Ola has to prepare her younger brother for the event. It’s not always easy for her to attend to her own needs. The director creates a very intimate portrait of her protagonists with extraordinary intuition. The film has received numerous awards, including the “Young Eyes Award” at DOK Leipzig and the Polish film prize for best documentary.
