The Nuremberg International Human Rights Film Festival (NIHRFF) is Germany’s largest and oldest human rights film festival. Every two years, NIHRFF presents international and committed film art.

NIHRFF Weekender 2024

From October 17 to 20, 2024, a small weekend edition of the festival will take place at the Filmhaus Nürnberg to shorten the waiting time for the big festival in 2025. Information on the program will be available this fall.

The next big festival edition will take place from October 15 – 22, 2025.

No Film Submission

Please understand that we are currently unable to accept film submissions.

Our upcycling bags are made by the sewing workshop Mudra – Alternative Jugend- und Drogenhilfe Nürnberg e.V. here in Nuremberg and make use of our old NIHRFF tarps.

NIHRFF Opening at Tafelhalle

We cordially invite you to the festival opening

on 27.9. at 7:30 pm at Tafelhalle.

Following the opening, we will be showing the film THE ECHO in the presence of assistant director Graciela Villanueva.

The opening will be interpreted into German sign language.

The NIHRFF programme 2023 is online

We are very thirlled to present once again international high class cinema from September 27 until October 4, 2023!

The program includes 59 films from 46 countries, discussions and concerts. We are also expecting many international filmmakers to present their films.
